Elisa is truly passionate about Pilates. She believes that it’s a great way to find the right balance physically and mentally as well as overall health through proper posture and a conscious use of the muscle.
Elisa started Pilates over 13 years ago, after subsequently developing arthritis on her right hip and pilates became part of her daily routine.
During these years Elisa’s passion for the discipline grew, exploring and learning different approaches to Pilates and she has worked in Italy, Sydney, Dubai and London.
She not only believes, but is a true example of how Pilates is really helpful in understanding how to use the correct muscles during normal day life and builds strength that ultimately prevents injury.
I first discovered Pilates by accident looking for a low impact way to workout while working through a shoulder injury. I immediately feel in love with the way my body responded to Pilates not only physically but also mentally. I never realised how challenging it was. I soon developed a love for Pilates and soon decided to become an instructor with Breathe Education.
I’d describe my classes to be a dynamic, challenging whole body workout, while having fun and enjoying that break from the outside world.
When I’m not teaching I love to travel, head down to the beach, or catching up with friends and family.
The best part of being an instructor is seeing how Pilates can make a difference in everyday life, the small improvements add up and the mind and body will love you for it.
Originally from the Riverina, I will forever be a country girl at heart. I was very much into sports throughout my school years but dancing was my greatest passion and carried into University where I studied to become a Radiation Therapist. It was at University where I first discovered Pilates, attending mat Pilates classes on the Uni gym floor to complement my dancing. Once I hung up my dancing shoes I took up endurance sports, which has taught me some incredible life lessons, the biggest one being that whilst you may need to adjust your plans from time to time, you should never give up, adversity makes us stronger. I’ve been teaching Pilates for 4 years and currently balance working in a busy radiation oncology department by day, teaching Pilates in the evening and training for whatever event I have on the calendar. My passion is empowering people to realise they are capable of so much more than they give themselves credit for.
This convinced Kara to begin training to become a teacher so I could help others receive the benefits she had. Kara studied with Breathe Education and has been teaching Pilates now for 6 years and absolutely loves it.
Kara appreciates the purposeful movement of Pilates, educating clients and enjoy being creative in her classes.
She feels the best part of her job is seeing clients achieve results and move in a way that helps them feel the benefits in their everyday life.
For as long as I can remember I’ve always found joy in movement. From calisthenics, gymnastics, running, tennis and dancing, it was clear that movement was to be a passion.
My first experience of Pilates was in 2009. From the very first time I tried a reformer class I was hooked. I loved the way my body responded to the method and it quickly became my favourite way to exercise.
My obsession continued as I practiced and felt ongoing benefits in my mind and body. I found Pilates to compliment other forms of exercise and to assist in injury prevention. After years of practice, I decided to complete my Pilates certification at Breathe Education and become a Pilates teacher.
Outside the studio + teaching I love to travel whether it be getting on a plane for an adventure overseas or just a drive down the coast for a weekend away, there is definitely something about being by the water! I enjoy going out for dinner and wine with my girlfriends and walking my dog Denzel.
In my classes clients can expect :
-a DYNAMIC style full body workout
-combining strength and mobility
– an emphasis on flow
– a challenge (hopefully a sweat!)
– having fun in the process!
I enjoy seeing clients work hard and progress as the weeks go by. The most rewarding part about teaching for me is making a positive impact in someones life.
I believe that Pilates really does offer something for everyone regardless of age or ability.
My favourite Joseph Pilates quote is “Physical Fitness is the first requisite of Happiness”
