Anat Cossen
Registered Psychologist · Hampton East and online
Anat works with adolescents and adults from all backgrounds, and with couples. Her particular interests are trauma, anxiety, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, and supporting women through perimenopause and menopause, a season of life she believes deserves far more care than it usually receives.
Her clients describe her as warm, genuine and empathetic. She works to create a safe, collaborative space, at your pace, and takes the view that people are the experts in their own lives.
She draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, mindfulness-based and attachment-based approaches, and the Gottman Method for couples. There is a fuller picture of her background on the psychology page.
Not an exhaustive list, and you do not need a diagnosis or the right words to book.
Worry that has taken over more of the week than it used to, panic that arrives without warning, or avoidance that has quietly narrowed things down.
When effort and interest have gone out of things that used to hold both.
Worked at a pace you set, with no expectation that you tell the whole story before you are ready to.
Support for adults and teenagers living with ADHD or ASD. Anat provides therapy and support rather than assessment or diagnosis.
A particular interest of Anat’s, and a stage that is too often treated as something to get through rather than something to be supported through.
Relationship difficulties, parenting and family challenges, and the long-running business of self-worth.

Sessions run a full hour and cost $270. You can book directly without a referral, in person at Hampton East or by video.
A Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP brings a Medicare rebate on up to 10 individual sessions a year. Couples sessions are not covered by Medicare, which is worth knowing before you book rather than after. If you are not sure what you would be out of pocket, call us before your GP appointment and we will work it through with you.
If you would rather see the whole service first, including how the work is structured and reviewed, that is on the psychology page. For couples specifically, there is a page on couples therapy.
